Craze 3: The Life and Times of Jiu-Jitsu, 1915-1934

by Roberto Pedreira (author Jiu-Jitsu in the South Zone, 1997-2008Choque 1-3, Craze 1-2, and other forthcoming books)

Available @ September 1, 2021

Craze 3 is the story of the men and women who represented, disseminated, and in some some cases evolved jiu-jitsu between the years 1915 and 1934 in The United States, Japan, The Hawaiian Territories, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Spain and elsewhere. Jiu-jitsu did not exist in a vacuum so the story necessarily includes numerous wrestlers, boxers, managers, promoters, and writers. Much context and many details are provided, based on verifiable, reliable sources.

Craze 3 is 548 pages, 174,000 words, including an appendix listing all fights discussed in the book (a lot!), complete sources and citations, references and illustrations.

(Note: Craze 3 does not recycle material already available in Choque 1-3, but adds new material.)
